Terms of Service

Plain-English terms for using JobsGate. By signing up or installing the Chrome extension, you agree to these terms. If anything is unclear, email hello@jobsgate.ai and we'll explain.

What JobsGate is

JobsGate is a Chrome extension and web service that analyzes customer messages in your Yelp business inbox and surfaces intent, risk signals, and suggested replies. JobsGate is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Yelp, Inc.

Your account

You agree to:
  • Provide a real email address you control.
  • Keep your sign-in credentials private and not share your account.
  • Be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live.
  • Use JobsGate to triage your own business's inbox, not someone else's without their permission.

Trials and subscriptions

  • New accounts start with a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start.
  • Each user is eligible for one free trial per email address.
  • At the end of the trial, you may pick a paid plan (Starter, Pro, or Business) to keep using JobsGate. If you don't pick a plan, your account pauses until you do.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually depending on your selection. Annual billing is offered at approximately 20% off the monthly rate, paid up front.
  • Each plan includes a monthly analyses cap. If you reach the cap, the service stops processing new analyses for the rest of the period; the cap resets at the start of the next period.
  • You can cancel anytime from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then.

Payment, taxes, refunds

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card data.
  • Prices are in US dollars and exclusive of taxes. Where required by law, Stripe collects applicable sales tax or VAT.
  • Refund policy: we don't offer refunds for partial months or annual periods. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. If you believe you were charged in error, email us within 30 days and we'll investigate.
  • Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, your account moves to a “past due” state. We'll retry per Stripe's default schedule. If recovery fails, your account pauses.

Acceptable use

When using JobsGate, you agree NOT to:
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the service in ways that evade plan limits.
  • Use JobsGate to violate Yelp's own terms of service or any other platform's rules.
  • Use JobsGate to send unsolicited messages, spam, or harassment.
  • Submit content you don't have the right to process (e.g., conversations you didn't participate in).
  • Share account credentials with anyone outside your business.
  • Probe, scan, or test for vulnerabilities without prior written permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

The AI analysis: how to think about it

JobsGate uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate intent classifications, risk signals, and suggested replies. This is a probabilistic AI; it makes mistakes. You should:
  • Treat the output as a draft you review, not a final answer.
  • Read the suggested reply before sending it to your customer.
  • Apply your own judgment to risk flags — the model can miss things or over-flag things.
  • Not use JobsGate's output as a substitute for legal, financial, or professional advice in regulated areas.

Intellectual property

  • We own the JobsGate name, logo, brand, code, and the prompts + taxonomy that power the analysis.
  • You own your business data and any content you submit for analysis.
  • By submitting a conversation for analysis, you grant us a limited, narrow license to transmit that conversation through our backend and Anthropic's API solely to produce the analysis result for you. We don't store the content and we don't use it to train any models.

Service availability

We try to keep JobsGate available and working, but we don't promise zero downtime. We may take the service offline for maintenance, upgrades, or emergencies. We are not responsible for outages caused by third parties we rely on (Anthropic, Supabase, Stripe, Vercel, Yelp).

Disclaimers

JobsGate is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the analysis output is accurate, complete, or suitable for any specific decision you make based on it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to your use of JobsGate is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JobsGate from claims arising out of your misuse of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third party's rights (including Yelp's terms of service or your customers' rights).

Changes to the service or these terms

We may update JobsGate's features, pricing, and plans. If we materially change these terms, we'll update the “Effective” date at the top and email registered users. Continued use after the new terms take effect means you accept the changes.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you consent to that venue.
